Edo Commissioner Commends Pyrates For Blood Donation

The Edo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wilson Imongan, has commended members of the National Association of Seadogs (aka Pyrates Confraternity) Edo State Chapter for voluntarily donating blood to save lives.

Imongan made the call at the Benin City South-South Zonal Office of the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS).
He gave kudos to the group, which he described as a socio-cultural organization with singular aim at improving the well being of the people.
According to him, “I must commend you for your kind gesture by coming out voluntarily to donate free blood to save lives of generality of humanity as well as the life of those who may have been in dire need of safe blood that could guarantee their survival.”

The commissioner, however reiterated the state government’s commitment to improve the medical well being of the people as well as guarantee their good health, hence the choice of Benin City as the South- South Zonal Headquarters of the National Blood Transfusion Service.
He noted that the bold step taken by the donors to voluntarily come out to donate safe blood will further strengthen the public awareness campaign on free donation of blood to save lives.
